NOTE: please remember that we don’t have to RP every single detail. If you look at the task planning, just kinda ‘follow’ what’s said there. Although of course you can change it up a bit. It is possible to skip bits here and there. Otherwise it will be a drag and take forever to finish the task :/ Oh and please reblog this as text so that we don’t lose anything. Solomon gulped upon hearing Nate’s instructions. There was a mixture of emotions inside the sixteen-year-old boy’s body. He was excited, nervous, and scared at the same time. Solomon chose not to let the last two emotions show, however, but instead he took a deep breath and tried to think of some way he could help in killing the monster. He followed Nate’s instructions and sat down, securing his position, only standing up a few seconds after the monster went back down the water. He had the chance to practice his powers the past few days. He even managed to make his leg heel. He was somehow confident he could contribute something. He watched as the other people in the boat did what they can.
The boy could just gasp in amazement as one girl turned into water. He was sure her name started with an A, but couldn’t remember as to what her name really was. Next thing he knew, another girl he was sure was named Cyd was making the water boil where the monster was. When the girl spoke, he snapped out of his thoughts and the first thing that popped in his mind was rope. After a second or two, a long and thick rope appeared in the boat. He quickly picked it up just as the angry looking guy named DJ soared and made a hurricane. “Wow.” Solo spoke as he watched the boiling water engulf the monster. Before it hit the water, Solo threw the rope and tied it using his mind. He remembered Mrs. T telling him that the only limitation to his power was his imagination. As long as he can imagine it, he can make it happen.
“Is he going to be alright?” He asked, looking at DJ and Will, before turning to look at Nate. “Shall we get going then?” He asked, taking a deep breath as he made a new paddle appear in his hands. “Now to find Atlantis.” He said, sitting back as he paddled with the others. Solomon wasn’t used to travelling without music or sound. The quiet sound of the waves hitting their boat would’ve been alright if they didn’t encounter a monster earlier. The sudden urge for comfort led the boy to start whistling some tunes he could remember his sister, Summer, singing from their music room back in Hamptons. As he continued whistling, an idea popped in his head. He paused paddling and whistling altogether for a moment, a smirk spread across his face as he whistled again, but this time towards the ocean. After a few moments of having sound waves direct him, he called out to the group. “Hey guys, Atlantis is—,” pausing for a while, whistling once more just to make sure he got the location correct, “that way. It’s right there. I’m sure of it.” He said, pointing towards his right, where the water’s color was a darker shade of blue.
All of it happened so fast that Nate barely had the time to respond. Once DJ was out of the water, Nate carefully made his way over to him. Positioning himself next to the boy, he tried to locate his pulse. Once he got it, he stood up again. “Don’t worry about him. He will be just fine. He has lost a lot of energy so he needs to rest for a bit now,” He informed the others of how the boy was doing. He was glad everyone was okay. Cyd and Amarina looked a little bit paler so he went to the back of the boat and found some food and gave it to everyone. They needed to get their energy levels back up if they were to continue. Suddenly, Solomon, who was sitting next to him said he had located Atlantis. Nate concentrated all his vision towards that spot and realized that it did look like something was down there.
Nate remembered what he had talked about with one of the teachers just before they left. He had no idea how to bring the lost city back to the surface and so he asked for some help. Quickly, he gathered everyone in sort of a circle, except for DJ who was still lying unconscious. All their energies combined should be enough to bring it back. Hand in hand, Nate started murmuring words that he had been told and heard a noise behind him. He didn’t pause because it would break the spell but he was almost 100% sure that it was the lost island, rising back up to the surface again being so lost for so many centuries.
ooc; I’m sorry for the godmodding. it’s the only thing i could come up with so that they could bring the city back. is this alright? i honestly have no idea -.-

Ethan boarded the boat silently and disinterested, taking orders without protest and sitting amongst the girls. As far as he would admit to himself he was only participating in the tasks as a boredom buster, and the feeling of obligation that had settled on most of the students. Being the anti-social person he was it was no surprise that he didn’t know any of the boys that had been lost, but something about there deaths that struck a chord in the junior, although he would never admit that. He looked over at Ronnie quickly and subtly, thinking briefly of the kiss in the stadium and shook his head. There was no denying that he was also here to look after the only people at Allegory that Ethan cared for, the boy was going to make sure that nothing happened to them, if they were injured the guilt would be unbearable. He caught Helena’s eyes as she paddled and sent her a grin and a roll of his eyes, as if to say he was bored already. Another way to disguise his emotions, the junior was constantly hiding behind a blase’ exterior. At Ronnie’s exclamation he quickly moved over and placed a protective hand on the girl unthinkingly, than quickly took it off embarrassed. “What is it?”
OOC; YEP. Godmodding my own characters like a boss. xDD
Andi paddled with her group mates, not even thinking about taking a break. Her mind was set. She was going to get her friends back. She was getting Hal back. She turned to look at her group mates. She was only thankful that she had Lena, Natalie, and Ronnie there— although Ronnie got a majority of the students drunk, including Winter who was supposed to be there with them. She tilted her head to the side as she sighed, a bit mad that her best friend was drunk and not there to kill monsters with her. They had planned this. They were both excited for this and yet the girl was MIA. She stopped from paddling once she heard Ronnie ask the group a question she didn’t hear quite well. “What? What happened? You saw something?” She quickly asked her, standing up a bit to check the ocean. She could already see the island from where they were. Scoffing a bit, she shook her head. Great, just great. We were near the island already. Oh well, might as well kill as many sons of a gun as possible. She thought to herself, turning to look at the girl who looked like Summer. She was seated quite comfortably, a blank look was on the girl’s face which kind of sent shivers down Andi’s spine. Creeping the girl out wasn’t something that happens everyday. Andi might be a total rebel child but she wasn’t stupid. Crossing the girl was definitely not in her list, more when she’s heard about what the girl does.
“It was some kind of centaur for water. You know, half-man half-whatever.” Gian shrugged her shoulders, looking out towards the sea, before turning to look at the girl who was leading their group. If Shiloh wasn’t one of the bodies, Gian wouldn’t join in. Well, not really. She would probably just join for the fun of it all, though. She stood up, a blank expression on the girl’s face, as she crossed her arms and saw something move towards them. She quickly grabbed one of the paddles and broke it in two using her bare hands and leg, throwing the other half inside the boat while she held the other one, the edge facing the other other direction. She was ready to stab the creature if it came near them. The water became calm for a few seconds. Gian knew that what would come next wouldn’t be delightful— whether it’s for them or for the creature, she has yet to find out. Suddenly, the creature arose from the sea and jumped above them, landing in the water on the opposite side of the boat. She furrowed her eyebrows, making sounds with her neck as she bent them a bit. She concentrated for a while, trying to listen to the sounds around her as she closed her eyes. It was just like those days in Brazil when she was running for her life with only a knife in hand. She heard something move in the water and aimed the broken piece of paddle towards it. She managed to scratch it’s body, hearing it hiss as it dived in the water once again. She knew it wasn’t the end. It was going to go back at them.
As Ronnie and everyone else started to freak out about the monster, Helena kept sitting, not really moving from her place. She knew that too much movement would rock the boat and they would possibly all end up under water. She knew that Ethan was coming with, which was a bit of a relief for the girl. Add the fact that Andi and Ronnie was there and it was almost perfect. And then there was Gian. Helena didn’t exactly know what to think of the girl. She was.. strange to say the least. As the monster jumped over them, Helena kept calm. Gian, who looked a lot like Summer was going to attact that thing with nothing but a piece of stick. Well that won’t work well. And it didn’t. The girl barely managed to scratch it and probably just made the monster even more angry. Still seated, Helena concentrated hard on one of her powers. She could feel it growing in the pit of her stomach. All the girl had to do was wait for the right moment. Suddenly, just as expected, the monster jumped up again next to the boat. Right at that moment, Helena directed all her energy at him and it burst into flames. Quickly, it burned and turned into ashes, the wind blowing it in four different directions. Suddenly, Helena felt very weak and the last thing she remember was how hard the wood felt against her head.

Despite that Nate didn’t exactly know everyone in the boat, he felt responsible for every single one because he was the task leader. As the boat suddenly sped up he noticed that DJ had made that happen. Grinning at the other boy, he thanked him silently. Endless paddling would’ve driven him mad sooner or later. Suddenly, Nate was pulled out of his thoughts by someone shouting. Quickly he realized it was Solomon, Summer’s little brother. While making his way over to the younger boy he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. They were still moving but Nate shouted over to DJ to stop the boat. Everything went quiet as the boat stopped. Suddenly, something submerged to the surface and went back down again. “Everyone!” Nate shouted and turned to face the group. “Stay in your position, but be prepared! There is something down there and we need to destroy it. We just can’t move around the boat much. Unless you want to fall in that is,” He informed them and hoped that everyone was prepared for what was about to happen.
ooc; uhmm can we kill the monster in this round so that Solomon can locate Atlantis by the time his turn comes around? I just want things to move along :DD Also here is task planning so feel free to use it as your reference point :D
As soon as she heard Nate speak, Amarina stood up alarmed. She familiarized herself with her surroundings and made sure that she was standing near Cyd in case she got in trouble. Her eyes searched the dark cold waters for the monster, while she prayed that nothing bad would happen. If there was something Amarina didn’t want to happen, it was someone getting eaten by a monster. She has previously, while surfing, witnessed a shark attack and this occasion reminded her of it. Concentrating hard on her ability, Amarina jumped off the boat and instantly turned herself into water particles themselves. Her body vanished as it blended with the sea. Swimming around Amarina located the water creature. Her eyes widened as she saw it’s webbed feet and hairy nostrils. Amarina didn’t wait long, she didn’t want to be noticed so she quickly returned, trying to not swing the boat too much as she climbed back on board. ”It’s under water, over there,” she said pointing a little to her left,” and it’s hideous.” Amarina couldn’t do much, the monster was a sea creature and all Amarina could do is manipulate water. Big waves weren’t going to cut it this time so she waited for someone else to strike.
ooc; Damn I hope I used her power correctly]Cyd was a little more relaxed now, DJ having thankfully taken over the sailing with an ease that should have been obvious from the start. Incorporating powers into planning was obviously something that was going to take practice. But at Solomon’s shout, she scrambled to her feet, body taut like a wire as she scanned the empty sea. A ripple in the water caught her gaze and – there! A centipede, or what looked like one. It was nothing Cyd had ever seen before, and her eyes widened as Nate yelled orders from behind her. They had stopped moving now. The boat rocked gently back and forth on the waves. Everything was silent. It was almost as if they were waiting for something. Then a splash. A blonde head disappeared into the water, and it took Cyd a second to realise it was Amarina. Her heart in her mouth, she rushed to the side of the boat, but almost as quickly as the girl had gone, she was clambering back over the side, pointing to where the monster was.
Cyd’s mind raced – she could see the thing now, getting closer by the second. It was huge; twice the size of the boat at least. If it got anywhere near them, they were in trouble. Gathering her thoughts together, she attempted composure. Her powers hadn’t been responsive before, but another try wouldn’t hurt. It started with a little glow in the pit of her stomach, tight and quiet. Then it spread, rippling down to her fingertips and toes, constantly intensifying until it became almost unbearable; a ball of searing heat behind her closed eyes. Better cross my fingers, she thought for a fleeting moment, before she could stand it no longer. Her eyes snapped open. The change was impossible to ignore. Cyd didn’t dare look up to the sun above, but she could feel the scorching glare on her skin, and as she turned a burning gaze to the monster, she saw the change there too. The water began to bubble, slowly at first, then vigorously, like a giant melting pot.
“Quickly,” she called, grimacing as the heat became stronger. “I don’t know how long I can keep it up.” Her vision was already beginning to blur, white flaring at the edges of her sight. If this was going to happen every time she used her power, she was going to have to be careful.
DJ didn’t really like this. There was something most people didn’t know about him. Something he always kept to himself so no one would even have a chance to get on his case about it. He, along with his twin brother TJ, hated being out in the ocean or seas or any huge body of water. He didn’t like not knowing where the ground was, or how far down it was. In the sky was different because he had control of how far he went if he were to fall. But in the water, he was a sitting duck, waiting for gravity to bring him down. He wanted to throw up, but he contained himself as much as he could.
Suddenly, he felt the boat shake a bit, jumping up and looking around. “What the fuck was that?!”, he said as he watched Amarina turn into a living mass of water. Okay, she just got ten cool points. That was pretty epic for a power. Grinning, it quickly got knocked off of his face as she spotted the huge monster. This was some real shit and they could quickly be in danger.
His older brotherly protective side came out as he got himself ready. He noticed the air getting a bit hotter, more hot than it should. Looking over at Cyd, he realized what she was doing, seeing the water begin to bubble. He could watch the blob under the water begin to squirm. That’s when he got an idea. “Guys, stay down and hold on to each other. Do NOT let go of yourselves and the boat.” With that, his body began to rise into the air, the wind swirling under his feet. Time to fuck this thing up.
His eyes turned a whitish clear color as the wind picked up, starting to blow around like crazy. He made sure not to aim for the boat, but of course the wind sometimes had a mind all on it’s own. The boat began to spin around a bit and he hoped they could hold on for dear life. He aimed his winds for the water and the beast under, watching as it swirled rapidly, pulling the beast out and into the air. His eyes widened when he finally laid his eyes on it. That thing was uglier than his great granny Ross on crack after losing a food fight in a Walmart in the ghetto. He narrowed his eyes, watching the wind as it circled the creature. With the boiling water surrounding it as well, he laughed as the creature began to cook from the outside in. He never knew he could do something as powerful as a hurricane but it was definitely taking a toll on him. The last thing he remembered was hearing the creature cry out as it was baked alive before his body finally gave way and fell down to the boat, missing it by an inch as he went into the water.
Will was confused, to say the least. Although, that really wasn’t anything new, considering Will was confused almost 24/7. So of course, he had no idea in heck what was going on as they sped off on their little boat. That was until he felt the boat jump and everything fell apart. He saw the blonde girl-Amarina?- literally turn herself into water and give them an update on the monster or whatever it was that was attacking them. He quickly moved himself away from it and debated what he should do. He looked around and saw Cyd and DJ start to use their powers but he didn’t really know how or if he should help them. He couldn’t really see how he could do any good without getting himself or someone else killed at the moment.
Instead he watched as Cyd cooked the monster from the inside out and stared in amazement as DJ made a hurricane that enveloped the monster. He watched as the monster slowly fell into the water, and then gasped in horror as he saw DJ go limp and begin to fall also. As DJ’s body fell through the air and into the water, Will suddenly knew what he had to do. He felt the familiar tingling sensation as he willed
(ooc: Will willed time. Haha)time to slow down and then completely stop right as DJ splashed into the sea. Will immediately dived in and grabbed DJ, grateful that the waves had stopped moving with the stopping of time. He quickly climbed back onto the boat and dragged DJ up with him. He looked at the older boy as he willed time back into motion, waiting for him to wake back up.Solomon gulped upon hearing Nate’s instructions. There was a mixture of emotions inside the sixteen-year-old boy’s body. He was excited, nervous, and scared at the same time. Task 7: Collecting obolus coins for descent into the Underworld
- Leader: Jenna Blainey
- Healing Ability:
- Nature Related:
- Cognitive Ability:
HEY GUYS, IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP FOR TASK 7, MESSAGE ME HERE (jennablainey)!
I am going to post up a starter soon. We have enough people. However, I am not exactly sure what is happening with Alma so we might have to hold things back a bit so that she gets back and can participate too. Who we have:
- Leader: Nate King
- Elemental Ability: Cyd Hale, Amarina Melor, DJ Ross
- Echolocation: Solomon Buffett
- Transportation/Time Ability: Will [insert last name here]
What I was thinking that we should for the order for para, I’m going to divide up to three parts.
- Europeans/Africans (aka me, Hayley and Dee)
- Americans (aka Omii and Alma)
- Aussies/Asians (aka Nicz)
I have divided up into continents so that the timezones go after each other. It doesn’t matter in what order you go WITHIN your group BUT the next group cannot respond before the previous one is done. I hope that this will make thing more efficient.
Also, for any updates and whatnot, you can go to check out either Army’s page but also I have made a page on Nate’s account (named ‘task 4’)
Please, if you have anything related to task 4 just tagged it with ‘task 4’ so that it is easier for me and the admins to trace it back.
So, any questions? suggestions? anything else?? :D i hope that was clear or whatnot
Enzo looked around, taking in their new surroundings. He felt as if he was stuck in one of Autumn’s illusions. There was no way that a door had been able to transport them to the ruins of a castle on an island in Greece. Then again, they were reincarnations of gods and goddesses- complete with godly powers- and their teachers were full on gods. Nothing seemed impossible at the moment.
“Alright guys,” the boy said, turning to the group assembled in front of him. “Let’s get this task done as fast as we can. Just get in, and get out-” His sentence was cut short as he looked over the top of his classmates’ heads and caught sight of a huge creature that looked like a lab experiment gone wrong, or a very imaginative child’s nightmares come to life. It had the heady and body of a lion, with a goat’s head sticking out of it’s back, and a snake for a tail. Enzo took in a sharp breath and created a double-edged sword in the palm of his hand. Two seconds into the task and already things were going wrong. And Enzo had a feeling that things were going to get worse.
ooc: I know I made it move kind of fast… But hey, this way we can get the task done quicker XD And the Chimera is like RIGHT THERE anyways…
Autumn looked around and began to think “Gah.. hopefully ku’uipo, Winter, all of the Buffetts understand why I left… and Nolan.. can’t forget him..” the 19 year old girl bit the inside of her bottom lip and began to chew on it lightly. Nodding at every word Enzo had to see she soon enough saw fear build up in his eyes. Taking the hint that something was behind her, just like in movies, she wasn’t one to hesitate. Quickly turning around and scooting back, she studied the beast that stood before them.
Autumn turned to Enzo then back at the others to watch their reactions. Gripping tightly onto the sword like it would have some type of magic that if she choked on it long enough maybe something would happen. But nothing was happening the monster was still alive and uglier as ever. “Okay.. I thought my Nana’s feet were ugly.. but this monster.. has beaten the scales of ugly and has taken it to a whole other level..” Autumn said out loud waiting for someone to take the first move. She stood there like she was paralyzed, or like someone had drilled her feet into the ground. She didn’t want to be the first one to make a mistake. Even if she was the one being the ‘co-leader’ she didn’t want to mess up and let everyone down.
ooc: sorry x3 I just woke up and my writing muse is.. PFT down..
Milly stood there, amazed. In all her years, she had never seen anything like the Chimera. Of course, she’d done her research upon entering the task, as well as her birth-given knowledge that came with being the muse of knowledge. Still, the creature before her was definitely not something that you could see out of a mythology book. Nothing like the pictures or paintings that had been drawn. It was incredible. Though, recently her life had been incredible, and the shock factor was seemingly lost.
Slowly, she grabbed an arrow that was strapped to her back. Drawing the bow, she arched her back, aiming for the Chimera. She’d chosen the bow and arrows, seeing as they were the easiest to calculate, and were the only things she knew how to use besides guns. About to shoot, she took one more look at the creature, which made no effort to attack the kids. The fifteen year old was wise beyond her years, and could tell that the Chimera had yet to notice them. “Wait….” She said to her teammates, not taking an eye off of the creature. “It… Hasn’t seen us.” She whispered, in an attempt to not draw attention to them. She lowered her bow, unsure of what this meant.
Dustin waited outside the boat; he didn’t want to get knocked over in the hustle to get on. He watched Max carefully, sizing him up as a leader. Dustin had no problems taking orders he would just like them from a reliable source. He wanted to live and although he might be able to do it on his own it was easier with a team. The leader appeared hopelessly uncoordinated or overly jumpy, either one made Dustin slightly nervous. He didn’t want the leader to fall off the boat or trip on the island. That would just slow them down. Dustin wanted out as fast as possible. He thought everybody else might want the same thing.
By the time Max had begun speaking everyone but Dustin had gathered in the boat. He held the edge of the stern with one hand and gracefully pulled himself over with the other, barely rocking the boat. Although he had already been worried about Max’s coordination he found comfort in his voice not just the words he said but how clear they came out. They carried to every ear, no chance of misunderstanding.
Dustin also agreed with his rules and wouldn’t find it to difficult following any of them. He doubted any plants would be more tempting than their own food. Even if they lost all supplies he had read up as much as possible on exotic vegetation. That knowledge really wouldn’t protect him as this particular island had no specialty books or sites to study. Talking and staying together were easy. Dustin rarely spoke unless necessary, he enjoyed silence and time with his own thoughts, making friends wasn’t his priority. Surviving was.
Dustin stepped forward and stretched his hand out to Max. “Dustin Hoffman sir. We have met before and it is a pleasure to be here. I happen to have knowledge of sailing.” His dad had taught him on a trip in the Bahamas, the water was warm and clear. Easier than the ones they were on now but Dustin was confident he knew enough to get there. It was faster and easier than paddling. If they did that everyone would tire themselves out. “I’m ready to go if you are?” He directed at Max.
A tall blonde stepped up to where Max stood, and he glanced up with a look of pleasant surprise. Dustin. A rare smile found its way onto his face. “I remember.” He took the hand offered to him with a nod, and a firm shake. “The ‘sir’ won’t be necessary, please. We’re all team mates now. I’m not any better than you.” There was a brief lull in conversation as Max took a quick stock check. Muscular - that definitely wouldn’t go amiss. They needed all the fire power they could get with his own weedy contribution. And tanned; Max wasn’t surprised Dustin could sail. He looked like he’d had his fair share of excursions abroad.
“Thank you, that’s a great help. If you know where we’re going, then I believe it’s all anchors away.” Gesturing for Dustin to take his place at the front of the boat, Max turned to the remainder of the group. “Everyone set? Let’s get going.”
A small gust of wind blew against his face as Jason listened to Max. The boy could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins. It was as if he was preparing before a football game. It wasn’t all that different to Jason really, between the task and a football game. Both had one, simple goal to be achieved. Both had other forces working to prevent you from achieving that goal. And his past football matches was any indication; both in which he will succeed. There were many things in life that Jason wasn’t sure of, but football was the exception.
And so was going on this task.
An amused smile stretched across the football player’s face when Max finished telling them his instructions. “It’ll be fine, Sims.” he assured, placing both his feet on the handles around the boat as he settled into a chair. Jason had been on a boat before - those crappy motor boats he rented for his fishing trips back in Dallas, but he had never been on a fancy sail boat like that before.
The boy glanced at his team mates lazily, the smile still lingering on his expression. “In and out.” he teased with slight smile as his gaze wandered off towards the horizon. He reached down for the six pack that was conveniently placed on the floor, and cracked open a can of beer. He then slid the rest of the cans across the floor, towards his team mates. “To..” he paused, his incompetent mind struggling to figure out what they were toasting to. “To gettin’ home in one piece.” he finally added, with a gesture of his beer, feeling pretty good about his appropriate phrasing.
Until Tuesday (probably whole day) because of real life stuff. We take Christmas seriously so everything going on is pre-Christmas related. Anywho, if I missed to reblog any task paras or task plannings, please message or submit to this account the link to the planning. If for the para, please just inform me using the account you used to make the task para reply. That is all. :)
@BESTIE: You can give the time power thing to Will/Alma. I can make Solo take the Echolocation instead. :3
@PEN: You’re next for the Task 6 para reply. :)
